Our Background
Our founders began their foray into the arena of waste reduction through their automotive assembly plant paint shop deep cleaning endeavors. It was their efforts to reduce the volume of paint sludge (waste) generated through process evaluation and optimization that garnered the support of plant management.
Landfill tipping fees for Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) on the east cost typically range from $60 - $65 per ton. This is significantly higher than the MSW tipping fees for most other automotive assembly plants located in the mid-west (where tipping fees rarely exceed $15 per ton). Therefore, Waste Logic’s economic model of reduce – reuse – recycle and waste to energy options to avoid expensive landfills makes sense in these geographic areas.
